Position: Engineer/Driver Support
Hours: 9 am to 5.30 pm, 5 days over 6 on a rota basis
Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £19,000 per annum (reviewed after 3 months), plus generous company bonus scheme
Area: Colchester CO3 0JX
Main Purpose of the Role:
Due to the recent growth of the business, Ableworld Colchester is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Engineer who will also be able to support the delivery side of the business. The role is unlike any typical engineering role as you will work alongside our current engineer and complete high quality control checks on a range of equipment (mobility scooters, wheelchairs, powerchairs etc), checking for and repairing faults due to part failure or repairing damaged items. On the delivery side you will carry out demonstrations of power chairs, mobility scooters and other mobility equipment for customers, in their homes or nursing/care homes; you will also get involved in installations of the equipment and products.
Throughout your working day you will be interacting with customers, so we are looking for an individual who has good customer service skills, is highly organised and enjoys working with people of all ages.
Duties will include:
- Undertaking installations of mobility products
- Delivering products to customers’ homes and care homes etc when required
- Promoting a high level of customer service in a polite and professional way
- Completing required paperwork

DBS Check: A DBS disclosure will be required for this position (for which Ableworld will meet the cost).
