I do not feel competent on these stairlifts and am not comfortable charging people to work on them.
I have looked at this machine on several occasions and have only charged the customer when I was 100% confident that I was doing the correct thing.
I have the manuals and the fault codes and it is definitely something to do with the levelling, maybe an encoder problem, but I could spend a fortune on parts and much time guessing. So this time there is no point in me attending.
There must be someone out there who has training and/or access to Acorn back up?
In the last few years I have come across several people ripping out almost new Bison/Brooks/Acorn 80 stairlifts because they couldnt get them repaired and/or had enough of the Acorn rip off machine. This lady cannot afford to do that, and shouldnt have to. There must be someone out there who can have a look at this????
Ian and Kevin – your input is appreciated.
