Hi,
I have fitted stairlifts for people I know who can’t afford new ones, just to help them out but I am currently considering a career change to become a qualified stairlift engineer. I have worked in engineering for 20 years and am a good allrounder.
I don’t want to sell / fit new stairlifts, I would rather just do callout service / repairs and refurbish / install second-hand ones for myself as I have done so far.
Is it possible to get full engineer training / accreditation with Acorn and Stannah etc (on both straight and curved systems) but without having to work directly for them?
Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can give.Regards
Chris

As you are in hampshire it might be worth contacting Stannah at Andover to see if they offer any product training courses. You should also look at NVQ accreditation level 2 for stairlift engineering.
